The Patriots have been busy on Monday and they’re still upgrading their 2021 roster.

According to the NFL Network, the Patriots are signing receiver Kendrick Bourne to a three-year, $22.5 million deal. The 25-year-old is coming off the best season of his career with 49 receptions, 667 yards and two touchdowns.

Bourne came to San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and made the 49ers 53-man roster. He had 42 receptions for 487 yards and four touchdowns in 2018 and then 30 catches for 358 yards and five touchdowns in 2019. Bourne has solid size at 6-foot-1, 203 pounds. He also has sure hands, catching 62.8% of the passes thrown his way in the NFL.

Last season, Bourne mainly lined up out wide (402 snaps), but also played in the slot (280 snaps), according to Pro Football Focus.

The Patriots are in need of receiving help and Bourne adds some nice depth. The team returns Julian Edelman, Jacobi Meyers, Marqise Lee and Gunner Olszewski. Bourne would add a nice complimentary piece to a group that could use some upgraded talent.
