Titans place Isaiah Wilson on COVID-19/reserve list — again; Dane Cruikshank hits IR
Wilson, an offensive tackle and the team's first-round pick, also was placed on the list in July. In between, during training camp, Wilson appeared to be a clear notch below Dennis Kelly, with whom he was competing for the starting right tackle position.
The COVID-19/reserve list is for players who have tested positive or are quarantining because they came into close contact with someone who tested positive. Because of an agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, teams can only disclose a player's roster status; they can't disclose whether a player has tested positive for COVID-19 if he is placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Dane Cruikshank to IR
After making the initial 53-man roster, Titans safety Dane Cruikshank on Sunday was placed on injured reserve.
Cruikshank, a 2018 fifth-round pick whom the Titans like in part for his versatility on special teams, missed a good chunk of camp with an undisclosed injury.
Under the NFL’s new IR rules, a player can be recalled to the active roster after three games, so Cruikshank would be eligible to return after Tennessee’s Sept. 27 game versus Minnesota.
Chris Milton, Senorise Perry added to 53
Also on Sunday, the Titans added running back Senorise Perry and cornerback Chris Milton to the 53-man roster. Both Perry and Milton were with the Titans during this year’s training camp.
Milton is a special teams ace who spent last season with the Titans, though he was placed on IR in November. Perry did enough to compel the Titans to put him on the roster over Jeremy McNichols, who earlier on Sunday was signed to the team's practice squad.
