Tim Tebow's reported tryout with the Jags has Twitter on fire
NFL Draft Day has become NFL Draft and Tim Tebow news day (and Aaron Rodgers news, but that's not the focus here).
Just as the Jacksonville Jaguars prepared to draft Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick, news broke that Tebow, the Florida Gators' Heisman-winning quarterback from 2007, had worked out with the Jags recently.
As a tight end.
Of course, Twitter has exploded with reactions of all sorts, many of which are hilarious (or mean-spirited, depending on your fandom of the Gators great).
After all, Tebow's post-Gators career has had more twists and turns than a spy movie -- from his playoff victory with the Denver Broncos to tryouts with the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles to his four-year stint in the New York Mets' minor-league organization.
Keep in mind, also, that this is not the first time we've heard Tebow possibly becoming a tight end. In 2013, Bill Belichick had Tebow running routes in training camp with the New England Patriots. (Didn't quite work out, though.)
(And for at least one Florida sports writer, it's not altogether unexpected: Ken Willis of the Daytona Beach News-Journal brought up the idea -- in January.)
